Weight Gain
although i just really loathe to admit this ...
but i have gained TWELVE pounds since college which just happens to be over a tenth of my body weight (basically i'm fat).
it's so mortifying to come back home and not fit into your old clothes. either vanity sizing is a reality or i'm just plain delusional because over the course of five years, i've somehow managed to stay the same size. but then why is it that my clothes from '02 don't seem to be the same size as my clothes from '07?

i know i'm going to sound like an uber-snot for saying this, but stinginess is one of my biggest pet peeves.
unfortunately, the subject of money has come up more frequently than i'd like these days ... especially with my friends in nyc while we debated through the issue of the haves vs. have-nots, the politics of friendship in the context of coming from different socioeconomic backgrounds and how money, materialism, and affluence could not only be the seed of extreme resentment and pithiness, but the ultimate worst, sour grapes.
the idea of busting a gut over a few measly dollars or a slightly overpaid tip is not only lame but shameless. and so not worth the time, the energy, or the effort. sadly enough, some people i know have the compulsive habit of cinching on bills, asking to borrow money, and i just can't believe ... expecting you to pay for them simply on the basis that you're "better off." one girl i know actually had the audacity to show up to dinner decked out down to her designer underwear, ate her food, and then declared: "i have no money" and then looked to us to front the bill. to which i just screamed at her: "then you just better hit up that atm and SCRATCH UP THAT CARD!"
it was a hoary mess.
i'm shooting for april/may in korea. but no promises or guarantees. just two empty suitcases and a passport to fill after i come back from my hyundai/lotte shopping sprees, splurging on shoes ...
and oh yeah, i've decided on the digital perm somewhat over the cuni and definitely over setting.
