FiOS
spotty internet is driving me crazy!
less than a week left before we go fiber optic. some minor worries about rupturing our underground sprinkler system. and then setting up our new modem, router, and security network.
and then lightning speed internet!
the utility crew came by to mark up our front yard and stick in some flags ... as our neighbors have curiously looked on from their driveways to see what the fuss is about. i throw them a dirty smirk singing in my head, "we're going fiber optic, we're going fiber optic!" no more sharing with greedy neighbors who swallow up all the bandwidth for their trivial obsessions and ignorant web browsing.
seriously though, my family are such internet junkies ... it was only a matter of time before we went fiber optic. it's enough that my brother and i are warring over 400 kB/s downloads but then we have to contend with my mother's internet streaming and my father's broadcast updates ... RSS feeds, AIM transfers, compulsive blogging and e-mailing, MSN convos, and well, yeah.
on a side note: my interviews are coming up at the end of the month! ... i'm so nervous! i have no idea what these people are going to ask me, what the other students are going to be like ... i'm going to have a roommate at the hotel that i'm staying at in philadelphia who will also be interviewing with me. i forgot what it's like to be social and charming and tactful and well, normal.
pray pray pray everything goes well. and that i don't bust a tire while driving there.
eek!
