where the @#$%! is my PIM cable?!!
i'm in a grumpy mood today because i slept funky last night and now my back aches.
on the bright side however, last night i had a freshly popped bottle of veuve cliquot la grand dame!
i'm not terribly big on champagne but i was craving something fizzy (a la champagne pop in chicago ...) and bubbly. i know i'm going to sound like an uber-snot for saying this, but i get real twitchy when some not-so-informed dinner companions order your standard, cliched, overrated bottle of pinot grigio, noir, chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, cabernet/chiantis and WORST of all, a glass of merlot.
the last time someone REALLY impressed me with his dinner order was by asking for a rarely served if even offered bottle of canadian ice wine and duck confit (the best pairing i've experienced to date!).
notable exceptions: framboise with artisanal cheese sampler, tequila (patron) with ceviche trio, muscat wine and butter creme cake, port with medium rare filet mignon, and of course, tokubetsu sake with hirame carpaccio and FUGU.
i LOVE LOVE LOVE fugu paired with raw oyster dipped in chili ponzu sauce!!! ... all downed with an asahi super dry beer.
well ... *sigh* ... back to werk before i get myself all sensationalistic.
